SYNOPSIS

Although quite strong southern branch of polar jet is present over Mediterranean ... and short-wave troughs providing GF forcing travel eastward ... latest soundings do not indicate that chances for deep convection will be greater than marginal. Low-level airmass is dry, while an inversion is present over most of Mediterranean. Best chance for isolated tstms will be near Iberian Peninsula, where low-level moisture is somewhat better.
